Possible Applications
The textile inserts in tires are made of the highest quality fibers (polyamide, polyester, viscose) mixed with rubber dust. KIAS has created a new application in a development project, thus converting current disposal costs into justified revenue. To this end, processing techniques for the textile fiber were developed, and potential uses for the textile fiber were also sought.
One possible application is in asphalt production. For example, the currently added cellulose fiber (which has many disadvantages, such as water absorption) can be replaced with our processed textile fiber.
Our customers are also found in the production of insulation materials, the construction industry, and the automotive industry.
Customer Benefits
By processing the fiber, the customer receives a product with additional properties compared to existing ones, and the customer can save up to 30% of their current costs.

KIAS Recycling is the only scrap tire recycling plant in Austria that largely reintroduces its products rubber, textile, steel to material recovery!
The Company
The Scrap Tire Recycling Plant
Pre-shredding
The sorted tires are shredded into palm-sized pieces (tire shreds) using rotary shears.
Granulation
In a multi-stage process, the tire shreds are progressively reduced in size using a modern granulation press.
Cleaning
This is followed by an elaborate separation and cleaning process, which ensures the highest quality standards for the final product.
A characteristic feature of the KIAS plant is that, on the one hand, the highest quality standards are achieved, and on the other hand, the most diverse customer requirements can be optimally met through maximum flexibility.
